Alessandro Giacardi

I’m a PhD Candidate in Development Economics at Sapienza University of Rome, and a research fellow at the Food Insecurity and Poverty Observatory Lab.

My broader research interests lie in the micro-level determinants and channels of climate adaptation, with particular attention to risk perception, gendered dynamics, and local risk management mechanisms.

In 2024, I visited the Paris School of Economics (PSE) within the Development Group. In 2025, I am visiting the Nova School of Business and Economics, hosted by the NOVAFRICA center.

When I’m not working, you can find me cooking, rowing, or tackling Arabic.
